Sponsorship (Family)
The following family members may be sponsored by a Permanent Resident or Citizen of Canada (provided all other eligibility criteria are met):
- Spouse and spouse's dependent children
- Common-law partner and partner's dependent children
- parent
- grandparent
- Child (including adopted child)
- Orphaned close relative
- Other relative
Your spouse or common-law partner may be sponsored under the Family Class (overseas sponsorship) or under the Spouse or Common-Law Partner In Canada Class* (inland sponsorship).
*Your spouse or common-law partner may be eligible for an Open Work Permit.
